Dear awake ones,
It is hard to believe what a difference some of these beans make when you drink a cup of coffee and they get inside of you. Wearing them on the outside like this bracelet does nothing, but inside, oh, yeah!
Twice recently, I was real tired in the evening, and I needed to get some reading/studying done, so I drank some java. It was 2a.m., the first night, when I finally fell asleep. Last night, I drank some at 7, thinking I would be okay. It was the dark roasted variety. At 3:30 this morning, my wife came out in the living room, and said, “what is going on?” I was listening to a message and working on my computer. Around 4:30, I tried sleeping again. 7a.m. now! Navy, our Jack Russell, didn’t help at one point as she needed to relieve herself. ?
In the New Testament letter to the Church at Corinth (2 Corinthians 13:5), we read, “Test yourselves [to see] if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you–unless indeed you fail the test?” (NASB
I knew the coffee was real, I felt the effects!
What about Jesus in me? Do I know His presence? What about you? The verses above tells us to examine ourselves, to see if we are of the faith, to know in fact, that Jesus lives within us! It is easy with the caffeine. What about with Jesus?
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (NASB)
These two verses reveal the evidence of the Spirit of Christ in us. Take a moment. Do you see these evidences in your life of Jesus? If not, why not?
Read I John, and see if you see yourself as well! It is important to examine yourself frequently, so that you might be encouraged by the reality of Christ in you, or to make sure you are in the faith, making sure you are not living with a false hope!
Christ within us, the hope of glory, does not feel like a cup of coffee! It is so much greater! I pray that you pass the examination, and that you are enjoying Him!
If not, seek God with all your heart, study the Gospel of John, talk with a Follower of Christ. Do it now! It is a matter of life and death!
Enjoying the indwelling life of Christ,
